Version 3.10.1138Version 3.9.1102
- Added automatic cleanup of uninstalled and inactive apps. In GlassWire Protect Settings, GlassWire clears firewall rules for apps you've removed (on by default) or that have gone inactive (off by default), after a threshold you choose, 30 days by default. If the app reconnects later, GlassWire treats it as new rather than restoring its old rule. Every cleanup shows up as a log entry.
- Added filters to the GlassWire Protect (firewall) list, so you can narrow it down by allowed/blocked incoming and outgoing connections.
- Added a banner on the GlassWire Protect tab when Block All mode is active, since per-app rules are paused while it's on and only take effect again once you switch modes.
- Improved the Network Scanner tab to explain when a Wi-Fi network name shows as "Unknown" because Windows Location Services is turned off, instead of leaving the interfaces list empty.
- Improved video memory capacity accuracy on the Hardware Resources tab.
- Fixed a crash that could happen when opening a right-click menu.
- Fixed an issue where popups on the Traffic Monitor tab did not show the host name or country.
- Fixed an issue where the firewall did not ask or create a rule for certain apps.
- Fixed translated text overflowing its UI element in some languages.
- Fixed a rare Windows crash (BSOD) caused by the network driver.
- Fixed a crash in the GlassWire service that could happen while processing driver data.
- Fixed a memory leak in the network driver that could build up over several days of uptime and slow down your system.
- Fixed an issue where sites could fail to load when using Cloudflare WARP or similar VPN tools.
Version 3.8.1061
- GlassWire is now a 64-bit application, bringing improved performance, stability, and compatibility with modern Windows systems.
- Dropped support for Windows 7, Windows Server editions, and 32-bit (x86) Windows. GlassWire 3.8.1061 remains available for download as the last version supporting these platforms.
- The "Use Legacy Driver" installation option has been removed.
- Upgraded the underlying UI framework to Qt6 for better performance and long-term platform support.
- GlassWire uninstaller now gives the option to remove all files and data on uninstall.
- Fixed a crash that could occur during network activity.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent auto-updates from being applied correctly.
- Fixed an issue where network devices appeared twice after updating.
- Fixed an issue where scrolling did not work in the alerts popup.
- Fixed an issue where the cursor was missing in the Search field on the GlassWire Protect tab.
- Fixed various UI issues including incorrect font sizes and overlapping icons in popups.
- Fixed a translation issue where "No Rules" was not localized correctly.
- Added the ability to delete firewall rules directly from an app's details popup.
- Windows system apps now show an Ask to Connect prompt the first time they try to connect, instead of being allowed by default.
- Firewall rules can now only be created for apps that actually use the network, so you'll no longer end up with rules you can't see or manage.
- Firewall profiles now work independently. Switching to a more restrictive profile blocks apps until you allow them again, so nothing slips through unnoticed when you change profiles.
- You can now run VirusTotal scans on system apps from the app details popup, matching the behavior already available on the Firewall tab.
- Fixed an issue where network scanning did not return results.
- Fixed an issue where VirusTotal scan results disappeared from the GlassWire Protect tab and app popups after restarting the service.
- Fixed an issue where app details were missing from the Ask to Connect popup.
- Fixed an issue where the Alerts list with the "All time" filter selected could show less than a week of history.
- Fixed a delay when removing multiple apps at once on the Firewall tab.
- Fixed an issue with the process popup on the Hardware Resources tab.
- Fixed an issue where the main window could not be moved when GlassWire was disconnected.
- Fixed an issue where GlassWire opened in a small window instead of full screen the first time you launched it after restarting your PC.
- Updated the bundled Windows Kernel Driver with stability improvements, including fixes for rare crashes.
- Fixed installer errors and the occasional "Untrusted publisher" warning for the kernel driver when updating from an older version.
