Bitwarden is een crossplatform en opensource wachtwoordbeheerdienst die persoonlijke gegevens in een versleutelde digitale kluis opslaat. Het is in de basis gratis te gebruiken en voor een klein bedrag per jaar is er toegang tot diverse extra's zoals het kunnen opslaan van totp-codes, inloggen met een YubiKey en opslagcapaciteit voor bijlagen. Bitwarden is beschikbaar in een webbrowser, als desktopclient, als mobiele app en als plug-in voor diverse webbrowsers. In versie 2026.8.0 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

- Action bar on desktop: The action bar is now available on the Bitwarden desktop app. Use the action bar to perform bulk vault activities such as sharing item(s) to a collection or folder, and archiving vault items.
- Fill assist for mobile apps: Activate fill assist to improve autofill accuracy on a Bitwarden-curated selection of websites known to cause widespread autofill issues.
- Devices list now available on iOS: The Devices list, used to surface devices that your account has been used on, is now available on iOS.
- Import from Delinea: You can now import
.csvand.xmlfiles from Delinea to quickly transfer your data to Bitwarden. When importing secrets from Delinea Secret Server, any item with a URL associated with it will automatically take the Login item type. All other imported data will take the Secure Note type with custom fields to accommodate your data.Self-host
- Manage Send policy: Organizations can now control all Send-related functions with the Manage Send policy in the Admin Console. The new policy replaces the previous set of separate Send policies.
- Generic HEC integration: Bitwarden Teams and Enterprise organizations can now integrate with any HTTP event collector compatible platform for security information and event management (SIEM). Set up an HEC integration.
- Change members' email and name: Administrators can now update a member's account email address and name directly from the Admin Console. This only applies to claimed accounts without a master password, such as those using Key Connector or trusted devices. Users with a master password can still self-serve update their email address.
- Helm Chart identity certificate password rotation: Customers self-hosting with the Helm chart who first deployed with version 2.0.0 or earlier may be required to rotate their server's identity certificate password.
