Software-update: MDaemon 9.52

Alt-N Technologies heeft zijn emailserversoftware enkele dagen geleden alweer voorzien van een update naar versie 9.52. MDaemon is een mailserver voor het Windows-platform met ingebouwde antivirus- en antispammogelijkheden. Daarnaast kunnen onder andere adres-, taaklijsten en agenda's worden gedeeld, en kunnen afzenders door middel van DomainKeys of Sender ID worden gevalideerd. Een uitgebreid overzicht van alle mogelijkheden is op deze pagina te vinden. Het changelog van deze release laat de volgende veranderingen zien:

Changes in MDaemon 9.52:

• [5295] Trusted Hosts and IPs are now allowed to relay by default to preserve the older behavior in previous versions of MDaemon. You can enable/disable this behavior using a switch in the Relay Settings UI. You should check this switch because 9.5x might have set it to disabled in which case this new default will not take effect.
• [5290] Added options to relay settings. When validating MAIL/RCPT values exemptions can now be made for trusted IPs and/or authenticated sessions. This required several changes to the relay settings UI.
• [5291] MDaemon will cleanup .TMP files orphaned in the APP folder at startup.
• [5292] Trusted IPs will not be caught by the Dynamic Screening option to block frequent connections.
• [5293] Added 'Activate' button to SecurityPlus registration UI.
• [5275] fix to outbound mail may not be processed if mail is being delivered to a host requiring POP before SMTP
• [3382] fix to ComAgent server propertysheet settings not saved after browsing mail client
• [5281] fix to WorldClient simple theme does not send message to CC addresses
• [5270] fix to limited space in email field within gateways|forwarding UI
• [5271] fix to MDAV references in inappropriate places

Misschien even corrigeren naar versie 9.5.2 ??

Layout gebasseerd op NT schermpjes, dus onleesbaar en niet resizable. Wanneer leren die programmeurs nou eens eindelijk waarom Windows windows heet? Die 19" monitors kopen we toch niet voor niks!

Gebruik WebAdmin, je kan daar bijna alles mee doen wat de GUI ook kan.

Dit is toch een van de betere mailservers voor Windows. Voor leken simpel in te stellen via de Basic layout en via de Advanced layout kan je gigantisch veel dingen instellen!

Het is alleen erg jammer dat de meest geimplementeerde SMTP/DNS verificatie methode nog steeds niet geimplementeerd is.

Waar blijft SPF Dat hoort inmiddels toch wel basic functionaliteit te zijn.

SPF is wel geinplementeerd hoor. zit er al vanaf versie 8 in.
