In reactie op de prijsverlagingen die Intel vandaag heeft doorgevoerd, gooit ook AMD morgen de prijzen van haar processoren omlaag. De meeste modellen worden ruim 40 procent goedkoper. Deze prijsverlaging was al eerder aangekondigd, maar hieronder kun je nu ook de prijzen aflezen:

Zoals gebruikelijk gaat het hier om prijzen die gelden als je 1000 processoren tegelijk koopt. Bedankt voor de tip el frikandel.
Daryl Grant van Neoseeker brengt ons een review van de Olympus E-10. De E-10 is het zusje van de E-100RS en beschikt over een 4 miljoen pixel CCD met een maximale resolutie van 2240x1680. Het apparaatje heeft een 4x optische zoom en een 32 MB SDRAM interne buffer. De kwaliteit van de foto's is 'superb'. De enige twee belangrijke nadelen aan het apparaat zijn de kwaliteit van de foto's in TIFF-formaat en het ontbreken van oplaadbare batterijen in de doos. Desalniettemin krijgt de camera een beoordeling van 91%. Hieronder een hap uit de conclusie:
The E-10 and E-100RS are definitely two, quite different cameras aimed at two, fairly distinct markets. Each has its own set of strong points – the E-10’s being the wide range of control and superior image quality. If you’re a photography enthusiast or avid professional, the Olympus E-10 is absolutely worth checking out. At around $2000 it costs less than top of the line digital cameras, but still packs a choice amount of functionality into its sturdy frame. So much so that it deserves the Neoseeker Editor’s Choice Award. I can honestly say that the E-10 delivers. Kudos to Olympus for an outstanding product.

Het volk van AcidHardware heeft een review online geparkeerd van de SkyHawk ATX-4278CIV kast. Deze middeltower aluminium kast is 445mm x 200mm x 411 mm groot. Aan de voorkant is het mogelijk om multi-media, USB en firewire aansluitingen te maken. Daarnaast heeft deze kast een 80mm ball bearing fan ingebouwd die aan de bovenkant van de CPU lucht er op blaast. Om je hardware kwijt te kunnen heeft deze kast vier 5,25" bays, drie 3,5" bays waarvan één intern. Vier card holders in het midden van kast zorgen ervoor dat je add-in kaarten lekker in hun sloten blijven zitten, mocht je besluiten om je kast in het rond te gooien 
.
Op het gebied van installatie-gemak verdient deze kast zeker geen pluim. Je moet namelijk eerst de twee koelers verwijderen uit de kast, voordat je je mamaplankje erin kunt zetten. Daarnaast zitten er ook flink wat scherpe plekken in de kast. Hieronder een hap uit de conclusie:
We did not have too many complaints about the SkyHawk case however, there were alot of points we feel that SkyHawk could improve on. Firstly, it would have been nice to see them add a couple of extra drive bays or case fans rather than the two front speakers which really aren't that great. Secondly, they should have smoothed out the sharp edges inside the case to prevent nasty cuts whilst installing the motherboard and any add-in cards. Thirdly, because this case is not as well-made as the Lian-Li, it would have been smart of SkyHawk to lower the selling price by at least $US20. These problems aside, we still enjoyed using the case and had no real big complaints. The front ports were a nice addition and the card holders are useful if you move your case around a lot. As with most aluminium cases, it does not weigh a lot and is much more pleasing to the eye than regular steel cases. If you are in the market for a light, aluminium case with card holders and front ports then you may want to have a look at the SkyHawk 4378C. However, if you do not really need the card holders or front ports then I suggest you swing a little more in the direction of Lian-Li PC-60. This is because, aside from being lightweight and good looking it is also widely available, well built and has well placed casefans. The bottom line is, although we found the 4378C to be a great case, we cannot recommend it over the Lian-Li PC-60. We found the case to be a standard midi tower in aluminium form rather than the Lian Li's efficient use of space which afforded it more room than a lot of full towers. This case however, does have one benefit over the Lian Li with its front ports.
