Novell has announced the immediate availability of NDS eDirectory and NDS Corporate Edition for Linux, expanding its leading portfolio of Net services software products across all types of networks and all leading operating systems. Integrated access to NDS eDirectory and Corporate Edition offers organizations significant new advantages, including the ability to simplify and secure management of Linux users and groups across the Net, strengthening Linux as a platform for e-business. Additionally, eDirectory for Linux enables customers to seamlessly integrate and manage their cross-platform networks.[...] NDS eDirectory is a full-service, open standards-based directory that is the foundation for managing network resources across all leading operating systems in one Net environments. By managing and securing resources across the net, NDS eDirectory eliminates the gap between enterprise and Internet, enabling Linux users to build and manage secure and customized relationships with customers and partners who want to use the Web as a primary channel for conducting business. NDS eDirectory will allow customers to integrate their existing mix of Unix, NetWare, Linux, Windows 2000 and Windows NT servers and clients under a single directory structure. NDS Corporate Edition provides the ability to manage Linux users and groups in addition to all of the NDS eDirectory functionality. Linux users can expect dramatic reduction in administration costs by having a centralized user management platform and a single point of administration for user profiles.
