Altavista schrijft dat Microsoft komende vrijdag meer duidelijkheid over de X-Box game console zal verschaffen. Op dit moment is al min of meer bekend dat het doosje een Athlon 600 krijgt met een 3D accelerator van nVidia en 128MB RAM (volgens de San Jose Mercury News). De ontwikkelingen in de PC industrie gaan hard en als Microsoft nu specificaties vaststelt dan zijn deze tegen kerstmis 2001, wanneer de X-Box op de markt komt, hoogstwaarschijnlijk al weer zwaar verouderd of gaat het om technologie die tegen die tijd niet eens meer in produktie is (bijv. de Athlon 600). Deze lastige kwestie zullen we over moeten laten aan het visionaire brein van Bill en Steve

etc. etc. Ik denk dat dit wel eens de meest stabiele Windows versie ooit kan worden juist omdat het maar op 1 systeem hoeft te kunnen draaien en ze de Windows 2000 kernel gebruiken (gestripped en wel) en niet de baggere 9x kernel.
