Ten opzichte van de Mambox P300 heeft de Genica bovendien als voordeel dat de prijs veel lager is: $99 ipv $179 voor de Mambox:
The Genica Portable MP3/Audio CD Player has one feature that sets it apart from its competition: it exists. That fact alone makes this device a worthwhile buy compared to such vaporware as the PineUSA CD/MP3 player and the MamboX (though they claim they will ship the week of April 17, 2000). Considering it is a first-generation CD/MP3 player, it works well and has some extra nifty features. It plays either ISO 9660 data CDs filled with MP3s or regular audio CDs. We tried playing a "hybrid" CD with audio and data and the player only found the audio.
