Software-update: USB Drive Letter Manager 4.8.0.0

Er is een nieuwe versie van USB Drive Letter Manager uitgebracht. Met dit veelzijdige programma kunnen usb-apparaten worden beheerd. Zo kunnen onder andere schijfletters pas worden toegekend op het moment dat er een medium in de drive wordt gestoken, wat handig is voor multicardreaders. Ook kan worden aangegeven welke schijfletters wel of niet mogen worden toegekend, afhankelijk van het type usb-apparaat, de grootte van de drive, de gebruikte usb-poort en de naam van het volume. Daarnaast geeft de applicatie door middel van een tekstballon in de systeembalk aan welk apparaat of volume met welke driveletter aan het systeem is toegevoegd. Meer informatie kan in deze handleiding worden gevonden. USB Drive Letter Manager is gratis voor privé- en educatief gebruik, maar van bedrijven en organisaties wordt wel een vergoeding verlangd. Sinds versie 4.7.3.0 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

Changes in version 4.8.0.0:

• Bugfix: Checking drive letters on startup of the USBDLM service did not work for non-USB drives if the drive's BusType was not obvious, e.g. a SATA drive with a DeviceID SCSI\...
• Bugfix: AutoRun MD5 check did not work after V4.2.1
• Bugfix: Drives configured in [IgnoreDevices] got the drive letter assigned by Windows removed
• Bugfix: Ignoring the Apple iPod did not work
• New: Events [OnDiskArrival], [OnDiskRemovalRequest], [OnDiskRemoval] for disks, e.g. without partitions or with unknown partitions

• New: UsbDriveInfo resolves the container of TrueCrypt volumes and can "eject" them
