Versie 0.57 van de LAV Filters is uitgekomen. De LAV Filters zijn een verzameling opensource-DirectShow-filters, waarmee de meest gebruikelijke formaten audio en video kunnen worden afgespeeld in een mediaspeler naar keuze. Het is vergelijkbaar met de FFDShow-filters, die de laatste tijd aan populariteit lijken te verliezen. Zo geeft de K-Lite Codec Pack nog de keuze tussen de FFDShow- en LAV Filters, terwijl de Combined Community Codec Pack alleen nog maar de LAV Filters aanbiedt. In versie 0.57 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen doorgevoerd:

- Support for RGB48 output, and high-quality dithering of RGB48 to RGB32
- Fixed a crash with DXVA2 Native on AMD GPUs in certain situations
- Improved detection of H.264 RGB streams, improves support with EVR
- Adjusted performance tuning for consistent performance in both playback and transcoding (in 0.56, transcoding could be slow)
- Use the FLAC channel mask from metadata, fixes playback of FLAC files with non-standard channel layouts
