Software-update: Webmin 1.390

Webmin is vlak voor de kerst voorzien van een update naar versie 1.390. Met dit programma kan vanuit een webbrowser een Unix-achtig systeem onderhouden en geadministreerd worden. Zo is het bijvoorbeeld mogelijk user accounts te beheren, instellingen te wijzigen voor Apache, MySQL en DNS, en file shares aan te maken. Webmin bestaat uit een eenvoudige webserver aangevuld met diverse cgi-programma's, allen geschreven in Perl 5. De software wordt uitgegeven onder bsd-licentie en is in verschillende smaken vanaf deze pagina te downloaden. Het changelog van deze release ziet er als volgt uit:

• Added the LDAP Server module, for managing OpenLDAP and browsing it's database.
• Webmin modules and help pages can be searched using a new field on the left frame of the default theme.
• The BSD Firewall (IPFW) module now supports the file format used natively by FreeBSD's /etc/rc.conf file.
• Support for VLANs and channel bonding on Debian, comments on interfaces on Redhat and alias interface bugfixes for FreeBSD, all in the Network Configuration module.
• The PAM module now supports include directives, and the UI has been re-written.
• More map types are supported in the Postfix module.
• Squid proxy reply restrictions can now be managed, from a re-designed access control page.
• Logged Webmin actions can now have a comment attached explaining why they were done.
• All cluster modules now have an option to show hosts in a table.
• Big contributed Italian and Catalan translation updates.
