Software-update: Total Commander 11.58 RC1

Er is een nieuwe ontwikkelversie van Total Commander uitgekomen. Dit programma kan als vervanging voor Windows Verkenner worden gebruikt. Doordat het beeld in tweeën is gesplitst, is het eenvoudig om bestanden te kopiëren, maar het programma kan veel meer. Zo zijn er diverse manieren om bestanden aan te passen, zijn een ingebouwde FTP-client en een multirenametool aanwezig, en is er ondersteuning voor een groot aantal compressieformaten. Verder kan de functionaliteit met plug-ins worden uitgebreid. In versie 11.58 zijn diverse kleine verbeteringen aangebracht:

• wincmd.ini [Packer] EncryptedNameCache=1 controls when to cache names in header-encrypted archive archive: 0=while archive open on current tab only, 1=while archive open on any tab, 2=always

Fixed:

• Version number changed to 11.58 due to problems with WinGet recognizing 11.57a as older than 11.57
• Files - Calculate occupied space didn't include compressed files in "on source drive"
• Do not store subdirs in header-encrypted 7-Zip or RAR archives in the history
• Do not remember files in header-encrypted archive after leaving the archive on all tabs
• Better tab key handling in main configuration dialog (64)
• Alt+F5 pack dialog: When the ACE packer is checked, do not uncheck "Create self-extracting archive" when checking "Multiple disk archive" too
• Alt+F5 pack dialog: When switching to ZIP or ARJ packer, uncheck "Create self-extracting archive" when "Multiple disk archive" is also checked
• Left mouse button selection: The rubber band selection window had a misleading title (invisible to the user)
• User-defined command em_command: Icon with a negative index (numeric resource id) was not used in the start menu and button bar
• Accessibility: Some text in confirmation dialogs didn't work with screen readers, e.g. delete confirmation when a directory isn't empty
• An internal command em_command could no longer be called from the button bar or start menu with any value in the "parameters" field of the button/menu entry
• Could not create new folder in header-encrypted 7-Zip with internal 7-Zip packer when not temporarily storing the password
• Could not delete folder from header-encrypted or solid 7-Zip archive with external 7-Zip packer when not temporarily storing the password
