Software-update: Total Commander 11.55 RC 7

De zevende releasecandidate van Total Commander versie 11.55 is verschenen. Dit programma kan als vervanging voor Windows Verkenner worden gebruikt. Doordat het beeld in tweeën is gesplitst, is het eenvoudig om bestanden te kopiëren, maar het programma kan veel meer. Zo zijn er diverse manieren om bestanden aan te passen, zijn een ingebouwde FTP-client en een multirenametool aanwezig, en is er ondersteuning voor een groot aantal compressieformaten. Verder kan de functionaliteit met plug-ins worden uitgebreid. Meer informatie over de veranderingen die in versie 11.55 zijn aangebracht kunnen op deze pagina worden gevonden; in deze uitgave zijn verder nog de volgende verbeteringen aangebracht:

Fixed:

• Do not use multi-threading for blake3 checksums on systems with less than 8 logical processor cores, because it's not faster. Can be overridden via CrcBlake3BlockSize
• Lister: Right-clicking on the first character of a URL did not select the URL, only right-clicking on the second character and beyond did
• Lister: Triple click on last line in a text file selected the line including a line break at the end
• When copying a subdirectory containing a mix of normal and sparse files, the sparse files were sometimes not copied as such
• Signed some more dlls which were incorrectly detected by Virustotal
• Do not use multi-threading for blake3 checksums for sparse files. Due to a Windows bug, this seems to allocate the entire nominal space of the sparse file
• Configure custom columns: Scroll line into view also when the up/down button gets the focus
• Find files, Plugins tab: Problems with scroll wheel (slow scrolling, wrong controls scrolling)
• Find files, Plugins tab: In dark mode, the vertical scrollbar was only drawn when clicking on it
• Find files, Plugins tab: Scroll line into view when going through controls with tab/shift tab
• Configure custom columns: Scroll line into view when going through controls with tab/shift tab
• Closing "Verify checksums" via ESC or Close button didn't free the dialog box

Ik zou ook wel graag zien dat de meuktracker alleen stable versies bevat. Al deze release candidates vermelden is wat mij betreft totaal onnodig.

Voor de vijfde keer de waarschuwing niet overgenomen mbt BLAKE3 checksums aangemaakt met RC2 64-bit:

Warning: If you created BLAKE3 checksum files with RC2 64-bit, they may be invalid, if you created checksums for files smaller than 1 MB followed by files larger than 1 MB. You will have to create new checksum files with RC3 or newer in this case.
