Software-update: 1Password 8.11.16

Voor de veiligheid is het beter om voor ieder account een ander en sterk wachtwoord te gebruiken. Als een bepaalde dienst wachtwoorden laat uitlekken, zijn niet al je andere accounts met hetzelfde wachtwoord toegankelijk. Voor het bijhouden van al deze verschillende wachtwoorden zijn wachtwoordmanagers een uitkomst. 1Password is er hier een van en is beschikbaar als webapplicatie, als app op verschillende platforms en als extensie voor de meestgebruikte browsers. Het kan twee weken geprobeerd worden, waarna een licentie moet worden aangeschaft. Voor meer informatie over de mogelijkheden verwijzen we naar deze pagina. In versie 8.11.16 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen doorgevoerd:

• We’ve made visual improvements to the background of the sidebar, authorization prompt, and Quick Access.
• Localization has been improved for a number of our supported languages using new translations from Crowdin.
• We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent you from unlocking the app if it was closed during sign-in.
• Icons now load significantly faster across 1Password.
• You now see a more accurate progress bar for Guided Setup.

Al velenjaren trouwe gebruiker van 1password op mijn Apple-omgeving, gekocht in Mac store in verre verleden.

Mijn DB staat in Apple Cloud, maar sinds 1password 7 krijg ik steeds de popup om een Cloud subscription aan te schaffen. Daarnaast kan ik vanaf 7 geen nieuwe entries maken; readonly. Zit ik niet op te wachten en moet altijd terugschakelen naar de oudere versie van jaren terug. Zal 8 eens een poging geven in de hoop dat dit anders is. Erg jammer.

Versie 8 is ook alweer een jaar of 3 oud. Ben zelf ook al jarenlang tevreden gebruiker en naar versie 8 overgestapt toen ie uitkwam. Ik ben van mening dat je het jezelf lastig maakt door vast te houden aan het oude.

Blijf het een "eng" gevoel geven dat al je wachtwoorden op 1 plek staan. Maarja, wat moet je anders?
