Software-update: 1Password 8.12.8

Voor de veiligheid is het beter om voor ieder account een ander en sterk wachtwoord te gebruiken. Als een bepaalde dienst wachtwoorden laat uitlekken, zijn niet al je andere accounts met hetzelfde wachtwoord toegankelijk. Voor het bijhouden van al deze verschillende wachtwoorden zijn wachtwoordmanagers een uitkomst. 1Password is er hier een van en is beschikbaar als webapplicatie, als app op verschillende platforms en als extensie voor de meestgebruikte browsers. Het kan twee weken geprobeerd worden, waarna een licentie moet worden aangeschaft. Voor meer informatie over de mogelijkheden verwijzen we naar deze pagina. Sinds 8.12.2 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen doorgevoerd:

1Password for Windows

• We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent the app from opening and cause a blank screen or error message.
• You can now connect additional browsers installed outside of C:\Program Files, making it easier to use browsers installed at the user level.
• We’ve fixed an issue that could cause the 1Password app to crash for some customers enforcing settings through an MDM solution.
• We’ve fixed an issue where a list of your SSH keys could be returned in an incorrectly sorted order.
• The setting to use system accent colors has been removed in order to offer a more consistent design experience.
• We’ve improved error handling when 1Password first opens to prevent the app from displaying a blank screen.
• We’ve improved localization for a number of our supported languages.
• We’ve fixed an issue where the Windows Hello prompt could appear behind other windows or seem unresponsive.
• We’ve fixed an issue where the multi-factor authentication prompt could be missing when trying to unlock the app.
• If you load an empty .env file in Developer > Environments, it will now show a message saying no variables were found.
• We’ve fixed an issue that could cause 1Password to crash when you signed in to a device.
• We’ve fixed an issue that could block in-app updates if the MDM setting for automatic updates was enabled for MSI installs.

1Password for Linux 8.12.8

• Local .env files mounted from 1Password Environments now include the source environment name as a comment.
• We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent the app from opening and cause a blank screen or error message.
• You can now select Open Configuration in Settings > Browser to more easily connect the 1Password app to additional browsers.
• We’ve fixed an issue where a list of your SSH keys could be returned in an incorrectly sorted order.
• We’ve improved error handling when 1Password first opens to prevent the app from displaying a blank screen.
• We’ve improved localization for a number of our supported languages. If you’d like to suggest a localization improvement, contact 1Password Support.
• The required file used to connect to additional browsers is now created automatically during installation.
• We’ve fixed an issue that could cause unexpected crashes.
• We’ve updated our Flatpak Freedesktop dependencies to version 25.08.

1Password for iOS

• In Safari, the extension now locks when the 1Password app locks.
• “Find in current list” in search results on iOS will now ignore accented characters (like é, ü) when filtering the item list.
• When generating a new private RSA SSH key on iOS, the bit-length slider now allows you to only select the three supported sizes, and we’ve removed the text field.
• We’ve improved performance when scrolling in the AutoFill pop-up.
• We’ve fixed an issue where unused items could show up as recently used on Apple Watch.
• We’ve made visual improvements to AutoFill for consistency in iOS.
• We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent the app from opening and cause a blank screen or error message.
• We’ve fixed an issue where you couldn’t select and hold a recently deleted item on iOS to preview it.
• We’ve fixed an issue that prevented exporting a private key or downloading a public key from SSH Key items on iOS.
• We’ve fixed an issue where the 1Password browser extension in Safari wouldn’t unlock if you had multi-factor authentication turned on for your account.
• We’ve fixed an issue where you couldn’t add an expiration date to an item on an iPad.
• You’ll now see proper navigation labels in the dropdown menu shown when you select and hold the back button while viewing item details.
• We’ve improved error handling when 1Password first opens to prevent the app from displaying a blank screen.
• We’ve improved localization for a number of our supported languages.
• We’ve fixed an issue where exporting through Credential Exchange could fail for items with empty or incomplete website addresses.
• We’ve fixed an issue where fields were intermittently visible when switching apps on iOS 26 if “Lock on Exit” was set to “Immediately”.
• When a file attachment preview screen is dismissed in search results, it no longer re-appears automatically.

1Password in the browser

• We’ve added settings that let you choose which item types appear as autofill suggestions in the inline menu.
• We’ve updated the Public Suffix List to improve site matching and support recently added domains.
• We’ve fixed an issue in Safari where pressing Return when the “Sign in with passkey” prompt appeared wouldn’t sign you in.
• We’ve fixed an issue where the Google account picker could automatically select an account even when autosubmit was turned off.
• We’ve fixed an issue with autofill suggestions expanding when switching tabs if “Show autofill suggestions when a form field is in focus” was turned off.
• We’ve fixed an issue where the steps to set up 1Password wouldn’t always show up in ChatGPT Atlas.
• We’ve fixed an issue where turning off the option to offer and fill logins and other items in fields could cause other features to stop working properly.
• Usernames are now properly saved when you sign in to a Google account not already saved in 1Password.
• We’ve fixed an issue with filling on some websites in Safari.
• We’ve fixed an issue that would prevent Autofill from working properly on many websites
• We’ve improved localization for a number of our supported languages.
• We’ve fixed an issue where 1Password could get stuck in a loop of repeatedly unlocking in Safari.
• We now correctly show the “Save in 1Password” notification for API tokens on digitalocean.com.
• We now correctly show the “Save in 1Password” notification for API tokens on github.com.
• We now correctly detect GitHub redirect URLs in the “Sign in with” flow.
• We’ve fixed an issue where the “Something went wrong” notification wasn’t visible when the extension pop-up failed to load correctly.
• We’ve fixed an issue where 1Password could unexpectedly reload on a new tab in Firefox.
