Na verschillende beta's van ZoneAlarm is nu versie 4.5.530 verschenen van deze gratis firewall. Dit programma is in staat om een computer compleet onzichtbaar te maken op een netwerk of op internet. Om dit te bereiken krijgt geen enkel programma toestemming om contact te leggen met de buitenwereld. Om wel verbinding te krijgen, moet voor ieder programma apart aangegeven worden of contact gemaakt mag worden met het netwerk of internet. Over de precieze veranderingen in deze versie is niets terug te vinden op de site van Zone Labs. Die informatie is echter wel beschikbaar voor de nieuwe versie van ZoneAlarm Pro:

als ik jouw was souw ik maares overstappen @ 4.x
...duidelijk. Ik dacht tot nu toe dat de 4.5-tak alleen betaalde versies betrof. Ik ben inmiddels overgestapt natuurlijk. Als dit niet teveel off-topic is: is dit de tweakers-choice firewall, met als uitgangspunt geen al te moeilijke configuratie met ingewikkelde rules (ik kan het wel maar ik wil het niet).
