De ontwikkelaars van DivX zijn bezig om een nieuw programma te ontwikkelen welke verschillende video inputs kan omzetten naar DivX gecodeerde bestanden met slechts een aantal klikken van de muis. Dr. DivX is de naam van dit programma en 1.0 beta is sinds kort beschikbaar. De volgende release notes troffen we aan:

NOTE: This software is available for a 15-day trial which also includes DivX Pro 5.0.5.
- Dr. DivX may crash occasionally when encoding of live-capture content on Win98/Me platform.
- Encoding live-capture content with DVCam may not be accurate (mark-in/mark-out time)
- A single-pass batch encoding job causes Dr. DivX to crash.
- Inclusion of certain VirtualDub filters may cause Dr. DivX to crash.
- Frame decimation may not work incase of Live-capture content encoding.
- Dr. DivX may not resize properly for non-standard aspect ratio inputs.
- Dr. DivX "Profile Output" displays erroneous resolution value when different certification level is selected.
- The certification chosen in the profile editor is not reflected in Dr. DivX application.
- When certification is disabled and resize unchecked, Dr. DivX may freeze.
- Dr. DivX fails to start a batch job (configured by EKG) when EKG is still open
- Dr. DivX occasionally fails to encode a clip with a separate Audio input (MP3)
- Live capture encoding with certain live capture cards may freeze Dr. DivX.
