Subsonic is een opensource en cross-platform mediastreamer, die muziek en video's kan streamen, zowel binnen als buiten het eigen thuisnetwerk en naar meerdere gebruikers tegelijkertijd. Op computer kan toegang tot de media via een webbrowser worden verkregen en er zijn ook apps voor onder meer Android, iOS en Windows Phone. De laatste stabiele versie is 4.9 en versie 5.0 is in ontwikkeling. De changelog hieronder is van versie 5.0 bèta 2.
