StartIsBack is een programma dat een startknop en startmenu toevoegd aan de desktopomgeving van Windows 8. In Windows 8.1 zit wel een startknop, maar geen startmenu en daardoor moest het programma verbouwd worden. Het resultaat is StartIsBack+ en het versienummer is weer bij 1.0 begonnen. StartIsBack+ maakt alleen nog maar van eigen code gebruik, waar de vorige versie nog ongebruikte delen uit de Windows Verkenner gebruikte. Een licentie voor het programma kost 2,22 euro. Die licentie is levenslang en het programma mag op twee computers worden gebruikt. Voor omgerekend 3,70 euro mag dat op vijf computers. StartIsBack is meertalig en ook in het Nederlands te gebruiken. You can set StartIsBack to always display taskbar on Start screen and greatly reduce Start screen stress! Although this function appeared in SIB 2.1, it really shines in Windows 8.1 when you set your wallpaper for Start screen.
