Software-update: MDaemon 6.5.0

MDaemon is een veelzijdige mailserver voor Windows. Hiervan is versie 6.5.0 uitgebracht met een lange lijst aan verbeteringen. Hieronder staan de belangrijkste veranderingen:

o fix to Alt-F9 not bringing up the Auto Responder GUI
o fix to ghost sessions clearing stat counts on startup
o fix to bug allowing more than one MDConfig connection at the same time
o fix to RBL warning headers being improperly stripped
o fix to Global Admins not being able to subscribe to lists via email
o fix to MDaemon allowing accounts with invalid characters in the mailbox
name to be created
o fix to SMTP byte stuffing bug
o fix to clicking on a sender in listview not always opening compose
o fix to X-MDMultiPOP header not showing up when message had no body text
o fix to slight cosmetic problem in Misc. Options|Headers tab
o fix to parsing problems in the content filter for malformed messages
o fix to EXPN command not always translating aliases properly
o fix to too many Spam Blocker lookups on DomainPOP 'Received' header
processing caused by errantly formed emails
o fix to incorrect file names in WorldClient when saving attachments
with foreign characters
o fix to WorldClient entering a 100% CPU loop when sorting the address
book in reverse
o fix to Spam Blocker adding too many entries to IPScreen.dat file
o fix to messages getting deleted on some disk/connectivity errors
o fix to the content filter losing files when compressing files of the
same name when using the file compression utility
o fix to error exporting addresses to LDAP addressbook on some non-English
versions of Windows
o fix to the content filter processing winmail.dat incorrectly for
restricted attachments

Jammer nog steeds is dat je nog steeds niet een soort van Exchange Simulator erin hebt zitten, zodat je met Outlook kan connecten als zijnde Exchange Server.

Ik heb gisteren geprobeerd m'n oude versie ( 6.07 ) te upgraden. Upgrade proces zelf ging goed. Alleen na het herstarten, crashte meteen de worldclient. Dit is nou net een van de opties waarvoor ik mdaemon gebruik. Ik heb nog geprobeerd compu te resetten om te kijken of dat hielp. Maar helaas. Ik ben dus nu weer terug naar 6.07

Anyway: wat ik wel mooi vind is dat de webmail nu ook via https kan.. toch net iets safer

* SSL SUPPORT FOR WORLDCLIENT *

SSL support has been added natively to the WorldClient web server. Those
who are unable or choose not to run WorldClient under IIS now have the
security they need built directly into WorldClient. Several controls
for enabling and configuring SSL have been added to the WorldClient GUI
within MDaemon. SSL support requires that IE 4.0 or newer is installed
on the MDaemon machine.

Verder is er eea veranderd mbt de antivirus licenties, lees dus ff de rel.notes

Je kon WorldClient al via IIS draaien en een eigen SSL certificaat maken.
