Microsoft heeft met versienummer 12.2.5 een update voor Office 2008 voor Mac OS X beschikbaar gemaakt. De update is verkrijgbaar in elf verschillende talen en is, afhankelijk van de gekozen taal, tussen de 332MB en 357MB groot. De update wordt overigens ook via de Microsoft AutoUpdate aangeboden en in dat geval kan de download kleiner zijn. De update dicht enkele beveiligingsgaten en heeft verbeteringen in de woordenlijsten.

- Helps improve security
This update fixes vulnerabilities in Office 2008 that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code. For more information, see the security bulletin that is listed earlier in this document.- Custom dictionary is improved
This update fixes issues that prevent the custom dictionary from including words from different languages.
