Software-update: Skype for Mac 2.7.0.257

Woensdag is met versienummer 2.7.0.257 een nieuwe versie van de Mac OS X-client van het voip-programma Skype verschenen. De download is precies 34MB groot, maar het gaat hier dan wel om een zogenaamde Universal Binary. De ontwikkelaars hebben sinds de vorige release, die alweer tweeënhalve maand oud is, niet stil gezeten. Het changelog van deze release laat dan ook een flinke lijst van veranderingen en verbeteringen zien:

Improvements:

• Optimized quick filtering history
• Improved connection speed to Skype network from restrictive network environment
• Improved stability and quality of video

Changed:

• Added (myspace) emoticon
• Added error message for SkypeOut error #1102
• Default destination folder of file transfers changed from Desktop to Downloads
• If there is a pending file transfer then after restarting Skype that pending file transfer will be focused in the file transfer window
• New 512px volume icon of dmg
• Switched icons in the dmg background image
• Localizations updated

• Skype crashed when clearing chat topic with backspace and then pressing enter
• Chat window emoticons pop-up was sometimes shown in wrong Space on Leopard
• SkypeOut credit was shown as FREECALL1.0 for newly created accounts
• No scrollbar appeared in the SMS entry field
• Sometimes contact was still shown in contact list after being removed from contacts
• Sometimes Skype crashed when the number of missed events changed
• Start Conference Call: multiple selected contacts were not added
• Unable to cancel file transfer after submitting an item into a multichat
• Undelivered chat messages were not shown as such after relaunching Skype
• Under certain circumstances some users did not show up in quick filtering results
• View -> Show Offline Contacts was grayed out if main window was not in focus
• Voicemail was sent to contact on some cases when user had selected to cancel sending
• When "Show Offline Contacts" was turned off and SkypeOut contacts were added or removed, then contact list was sometimes not refreshed

Ik moet wel zeggen dat dit er een stuk beter uit ziet dan die bloatware van de PC versie.

Dat is ook met msn het geval. Ookal is adium nog beter vind ik msn in vergelijking met de windows versie in ieder geval normaal te gebruiken.

Ik kan hiermee niet meer inloggen, een error "Failed to sign in: unable to mount database" afgewisseld met "wrong password". En dat wachtwoord is toch echt goed. Meer mensen met problemen?

Geen problemen hier. Na update kon ik hem opstarten en logde Skype zonder problemen in.

Weird, Skype "gereboot" en nu doet ie het prima.

Ik hoop dat deze versie crash-bestendiger is, kan te maken hebben met Leopard, maar ik had met video-calls nog wel eens een knaller. Verder wel een stuk prettiger qua indeling dan de Windows versie indeed.
