Waar voorheen enkele versies per maand uit kwamen, is het nu alweer een tijdje stil rondom ConvertXtoDVD. De ontwikkelaars van VSO Software zijn echter alweer een tijdje hard aan het werk aan versie 3. Vandaag hebben ze met versienummer 2.99.9.500 de eerste publieke bètarelease vrij gegeven en deze moet beschouwd worden als de eerste release candidate. De belangrijkste veranderingen in versie 3 zijn de mogelijkheid tot het samenvoegen van videobestanden, is de snelheid van de videoconversie verbeterd en is het nu mogelijk om geavanceerde dvd-menu's te maken.
