Software-update: HylaFAX+ 5.1.4

HylaFAX is een pakket voor Unix-gebaseerde systemen waarmee het mogelijk is om faxen en alfanumerieke pagina's te versturen en te ontvangen. Vanwege verschillende uitgangspunten bij de ontwikkelaars bestaat sinds oktober 2005 HylaFAX+ waarin veranderingen sneller worden doorgevoerd dan in HylaFAX zonder +. De beknopte geschiedenis van HylaFAX en HylaFAX+ is op deze pagina bij Wikipedia na te lezen. De verschillen tussen deze twee smaken worden vervolgens op deze pagina uiteengezet. De ontwikkelaars van HylaFAX+ hebben een nieuwe versie vrijgegeven met 5.1.4 als het versienummer. De lijst met veranderingen ziet er als volgt uit:

Version 5.1.4:

• add typerules "istring" support
• add faxmail -S tsi option
• improve handling of CRP when in Phase B receiving
• don't release a modem when job preparation fails and there are other jobs in the batch needing the modem
• ignore DIS when in Phase B receiving - it's likely echo
• add faxq 'Z' FIFO message for debugging use
• make faxq squeaky clean with valgrind --tool=memcheck
• tolerate non-zero data in TCF when we have an uninterrupted 1.5 seconds of zero data
• add Class1MRSupport and Class1MMRSupport config options
• change Class1TCFRecvHack to Class1TCFRecvHackCmd
• document EGettyArgs, document and enhance CallID support for gettys, and fix issues with egetty usage
• fix variable timeouts in Class 1 from behaving badly

Version 5.1.3:

• socklen_t adjustments for HP-UX 11
• add errorcodes to all error status notices, put it into the q-file and provide a way for clients to query for it
• never send RTN in Class 1 after a null-page was received
• fix potential faxgetty crash in switchingPause
• add Class1HasRHConnectBug workaround option
• improve faxq behavior when MaxBatchJobs=1
• add faxalter -C command option
• add hfaxd JPARM TIMEOFDAY client option, associated job support, and also expand sendfax -a syntax to include it
• add "owner:pass" syntax for 'sendfax -o' option

Version 5.1.2:

• fix hfaxd local time display due to DST
• fix a couple of Trigger problems
• add faxmail -C option to set coverpage template file
• quote input and output filenames in default typerules
• add faxmail -t option to set notification options
• add Turkish dictionary translations
• fix previous pre-CRP wait implementation
• add faxmail -T option to disable formatting of text parts
• add support for John Walker's "base64" encoder
• add a, c, C, g, G, I, S, v, and V options for tagline
• add AuditHook config option
• add Class1ModemHasDLEBug config option

dat kan ik namelijk nergens terug vinde:(

het versturen gaat denk ik nog steeds gewoon via een modem aangsloten op isdn of analoog telefoonlijn.

dus tenzij je bvoip gebruikt en je daar een gratis tarief hebt voor bepaalde mensen, en faxen daarmee mogelijk is, kost faxen met hylafax denk ik gewoon net zoveel als via een normale fax, eventueel heb je hier wat snelheidswinst mee, afhankelijk van je (fax) modem
