Zojuist is KeePass Password Safe voorzien van een update naar versie 1.0.5. Dit programma is een open source passwordmanager en kan accounts opslaan met de bijbehorende gegevens, zoals gebruikersnaam, wachtwoord en URL, in een met AES en Twofish versleutelde database. Het programma kan automatisch wachtwoorden genereren, lijsten importeren en exporteren, geavanceerd zoeken en gebruik maken van plug-ins waarmee de functionaliteit verder uit te breiden is. Het changelog van deze release ziet er als volgt uit:

- KeePass is now developed and compiled using Visual Studio 2005 (with MFC 8.0); older compilers and IDEs aren't supported anymore

- When performing 'save-as' the lock files are updated now (the one of previously opened file is deleted, a new one is created for the new database)
- Tray menu items are now disabled when KeePass displays a modal dialog
- Added advanced option to disable the 'save' button if the database hasn't been modified
- Renamed default file menu items (new, open, save, ...)
- Improved {CLEARFIELD} behaviour
