Iwill kondigt SIDE RAID 66 controller aan

Planet Hardware ontving van Iwill een press release waarin de SIDE RAID 66 controller wordt aangekondigd. Evenals de Promise FastTrak ondersteund deze controller de RAID levels 0 (striping) en 1 (mirroring) (thanks zAb voor de tip):

Maar op de doos staat dat hij er 8 aan kan, hoe zit dat?

Je bedoelt de 8 in het floldertje van de VD133Pro? Dat is 4 voor de IDE controller plus 4 voor de onboard IDE RAID controller. Dit valt me trouwens wel op in het SIDE RAID 66 foldertje, suggereert dat je 6 devices aan dat ding kunt hangen (hoewel men in dat foldertje schrijft dat het er 4 zijn):

Wel KIK zo'n externe connector.. handig als je geen ruimte vaaor een tray hebt !

Jah, lijkt me wel vaag een externe flatcable. Er is tot zover ik weet ook nog geen andere (externe) apparatuur die met IDE/faltcables werkt.

Heeft het weer zin om al m'n HD's in 1 kast te stoppen..
Voor zover ik uit de tekst op kan maken geen support voor SCSI devices.. Da's wel jammer, een combi zou natuurlijk helemaal lekker zijn

Zo ding lijkt mij wel leuk voor in mijn server.
