Wow! We've gone through quite a few benchmarks here, but what have we come away with? It's safe to say that the Cold Fusion 1000 is an incredibly fast system, the fastest single processor system currently on the market (in integer performance), in fact. However, we've also seen how close much less expensive air-cooled systems can come to this monster in terms of performance. Is the cost justified? Is the Cold Fusion 1000 a workstation or just a souped up x86 PC?The answer is a little of both. All the benchmarks we've run through have proven over and over that this system is lightning quick, and delivers exceptional workstation-class performance. Performance in excess of typical (though older) workstations, like the Sun Ultra 10s even! Benchmarks don't tell the whole story, however. There's a great deal more to a workstation than its performance.
