AMD Zone schreef een review van de revisie 1.04 Asus K7M plank. Dit bord heeft ondersteuning voor busspeeds van 90, 95, 100-125, 133, 140 en 150MHz en bleek met een Athlon 600 stabiel te werken op busspeeds tot 112MHz. Verder doet de K7M aan voltage tweaking, wat 'm volgens AMD Zone een ideale plank voor overklokkers maakt:
This is where the Asus K7M can not be matched. The K7M is the only board that allows for overclocking the Athlon without modifying the processor in some form. It has the ability to not only choose the memory bus speed in the bios, but to also modify the core voltage and the i/o voltage via jumpers on the board. Voltages from 1.3 to 2.05 in increments of .1 can be chosen. I/O voltages of 3.31, 3.4 and 3.56 are selectable. The memory bus settings include 90, 95, 100-125, 133, 140 and 150MHz. I was able to get an Athlon 600 up to 672MHz with the 112MHz memory bus speed. I could push it higher, but this was as far as it would go and remain stable in Windows.
