Combatsim heeft een review gepost van de Quantum Atlas 10K, volgens Storage Review de snelste SCSI drive van dit moment (ook sneller dan de Seagate Cheetah). Combatsim vergelijkt de schijf met een oude Quantum Viking2 en een nieuwe Western Digital Expert ATA/66 drive:
ompared to my former drive, the Viking2, the new Atlas gives over 200% increased performance. It's also interesting to note that while offering massive gains in overall transfer rates, the 10K consummed fewer CPU cycles than the Viking, at least in the WinBench tests.On the other hand, as the latest in IDE technology the WD Expert fares much better, trailing the Atlas in most tests by roughly 30%; however, both WinBench and Threadmark's transfer tests showed a very wide gap, with the latter displaying a 250%+ difference between the drives, though CPU usage was certainly higher with the Atlas.
