Western Digital heeft gisteren een press release online gezet waarin wordt verkondigd dat ze zijn begonnen met het leveren van een snelle 120GB hardeschijf. De nieuwe WD Caviar 120GB is uitgerust met een drietal 40GB platters en draait 7200 rondjes per minuut. De gemiddelde lees seek time is 8,9ms en de gemiddelde schrijf seek time is 10,9ms. Hoewel de leveringen van de hardeschijf al zijn begonnen is het prijskaartje voorlopig nog niet bekend:
