o__@hotmail.com" rel="external">Ro__ liets ons weten dat Planet Hardware en Gamers Depot reviews hebben gepost van de vandaag geïntroduceerde AMD Duron 750. Hier een hap uit de review van Planet Hardware:
The lion put up a great fight, but the new world belongs to the Duron, which won 4 out of 7 benchmarks outright. While 4 out of 7 isn't a knockout, it should be remembered that the benchmarks in which the Duron won utilized higher resolutions and color depth, i.e. the type that gamers play most of.
It's well documented now that the Pentium III will not be killed off by the upcoming Pentium4, but instead will be resurrected with a new architecture that uses a 200MHz system bus, 512KB of L2 cache, and a .13mu manufacturing process. Whether these advancements will be enough to stave off the threat of improved future Athlon and Duron cores is unknown. What is known though is that AMD continues to roll faster and faster chips off the assembly line, and the days of AMD being a laughing stock are long in the past [break]Update: Ook onze vrienden van Sharky Extreme hebben inmiddels een 14 pagina's tellende review online gezet. Die kun je hier vinden. De conclusie is vrij voorspelbaar:[/break] Once again, there is a new speed champ in the Duron 750 at the value level. This is definitely excellent news for budget PCs, and there shouldn't be a huge price difference between comparable Duron and Celeron systems so the business/commercial space will have some new decisions to make.
Thanx meendering voor de tip!
