Phoenix Technologies(TM) Ltd. (NasdaqTEC) -- the global leader in system enabling software solutions for PCs and connected digital devices -- today announced that it has signed an agreement with AMD (NYSE:AMD) to feature the AMD Athlon and AMD Duron processor logos and brand identity on Phoenix's new AwardBIOS(TM) graphical launch screen. With the signing of this agreement, AMD becomes the first company to leverage its processor brands on the new launch screen that was first deployed with the PhoenixNet(TM) Internet service in Q1 of 2000.
[...] The AwardBIOS graphical launch screen revolutionizes the way Power On Self Test (POST) results are displayed during the start-up process, making it easier for the user to view and comprehend the critical system configuration information. The graphical launch screen replaces the text-based POST screen that has been the hallmark of IBM-compatible PCs. The new launch screen is the first dynamically updated display on any PC platform, and is designed to enhance the start-up experience for the user. The new PhoenixNet graphical launch screen can be viewed at http://www.phoenix.com/launch_amd.html.
