Cookie schrijft dat de Duitse Tom's Hardware Guide als eerste een review klaar heeft van het Asus A7V KT133 moederbord voor de AMD Duron en de Athlon's in Socket A uitvoering:
"Volgens Frank Völkel is de Asus A7V met KT133 chipset het snelste moederbord voor de nieuwe Thunderbird processor. Daarbij is het ook nog zeer stabiel, compleet en goed overklokbaar! Nu nog prijs en levertijd afwachten..."

In the test operation the board with a AMD Thunderbird 1000 showed a very stable behavior with 1090 mc/s. How strongly the performance rises with a gradual increase of the front Side bus, those of Overclocking bench mark of Quake III arena show in the bench mark section. However may not be forgotten here, which the L2-Cache runs with the AMD Thunderbird with full PCU CORE CLOCK and thus the performance rises clearly more strongly than with the AMD Athlon with external L2-Cache (SRAM modules). Only weak point: The four voltage pins (VID) enable a max. core voltage of 1.85 V, so that with over clocks of the t-Bird 1000 no option exists for the further increase of the voltage. Also a view into the AMD documents to the Thunderbird shows that this processor for no higher voltages is specified. The Asus A7V offers clock multiplicators between 5 and 12,5 in half steps. The front Side bus can be adjusted between 90 and 145 mc/s sensitively, which are to due to the use of the Clockgenerators of ICS (CA030307).
