Ik vond een press release in mijn mailbox van de nieuwe Abit VH6 FC-PGA moederplank gebaseerd op de bekende VIA Apollo Pro 133A chipset. Verdere kenmerken zijn 5xPCI, 1xISA, 1xAMR, onboard AC’97 Audio Codec, 3xDIMM en SoftMenu II. Door middel van de Winbond Hardware Monitoring chipset kan de gebruiker zaken als temperatuur en fan speed in de gaten houden:

The three 168-pin DIMM sockets support SDRAM modules for up to 1.5GB MAX. in (8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256,512MB SDRAM) sizes and supports ECC type as well. And the VH6 does not skimp on device capacity either, supporting up to four Ultra ATA 66 devices and two USB ports and a USB header for an additional two ports, and the AMR slot and the AGP slot address your audio, graphic and modem needs. With 5 PCI Slots and 1 ISA Slot, multiple hardware devices such as SCSI, CD-RW and DVD-ROM can be utilized, thus allowing for future expansion.
Hardware monitoring The VH6 has an integrated Winbond Hardware Monitoring chipset. With the Hardware Doctor self-diagnostic software, the user can monitor the following hardware configurations.
