Asus CUBX moederbord review

Got Apex? heeft een review gemaakt van de Asus CUBX, een prima presterend plankje gebaseerd op de... BX chipset . Naast de BX chipset heeft het plankje een relaxte layout: 6xPCI, 1xISA, 0xAMR, 4xDIMM, FC-PGA socket en een ATA66 controller. De reviewer is erg te spreken over het plankje en geeft het dan ook een 10 ondanks het feit dat een fsb van 133 MHz niet risico vrij is en AGP 4x niet bestaat:

No doubt if you were to inquire about sales of i820 chipset-based motherboards from OEMs, you would be greeted by chilling glares from the executives.

Nogal OT,

maar kent iemand ook de asus CUV4X? Zag laatst de doos ervan bij Mycom/a'dam in de etalage liggen. Leek een socket variant van de P3v4x. Ze waren dicht dus ik kon het niet vragen.

dus ze hebben zelf features toegevoegd aan de BX-chip van iNTEL?
Bizar... maar als dat waar is wel een heel goede ontwikkeling, dit betekend dat ze het onderhand ook zat zijn om te wachten op iNTEL's nieuwe chippies..

Dat is een keer wat anders Asus zonder AMR bijna niet mogelijk want Asus plak tegenwoordig overal zo een ARM slot op. (denk dat het komt omdat de BX het niet ondersteund) Maar ik denk niet dat de meeste mensen het betreuren dat er gen AMR op zit. (wie wil nou AMR?)

Ziet er leuk uit Toch heb ik mijn lichte twijfels over de plek waar de floppy controller zit. Ik geef toe dat hij steeds minder interessant begint te worden, maar 99,9% zal deze nog gebruiken

'k Heb 'm zelf ook. En ik heb al velen afgeraden die 820 chip te nemen.
Nou moet Asus nog even een Bios update maken voor de andere bordjes, zodat ook daar de Frontside bus op 133 MHz. kan lopen.

Draakje: Niet het volledige bord staat op de foto. Bij de randjes mist wat. Maar wees niet ongerust, als je je poen voor dat bord neerlegt, zul je ook die randen er gerust bijkrijgen

OK, gevonden, floppy connector zit onder tussen 2 meest rechter PCI-sloten. Hope this helps

Heeft dat ding 4 IDE aansluitingen ? Betekend dat dat er 8 apparaten op aangesloten kunnen worden ? Of begrijp ik iets verkeerd ?
