Then, we tried to overclock Intel Pentium III 500 FC-PGA on our Gigabyte GA-6VX7-4X. Frankly speaking, the results were very easy to foretell. Like on many other mainboards with the FSB frequency restricted by 150MHz, the CPU overclocked to 750MHz (5x150MHz) without any effort on our part. Since the frequency generator failed to provide higher FSB frequency, we didn't increase it any more. That's why if we take into account that officially the mainboard doesn't allow increasing Vcore as well, which is important for highly overclockable FC-PGA processors, then our verdict will sound inexorably: overclocking unfriendly.
