Final QQ BIOS voor Abit BP6

Abit heeft vandaag de final release van het QQ BIOS voor het BP6 dual socket370 moederbord op hun ftp server gezet.
De newsletter van bp6.com zegt er het volgende over:

New QQ BIOS released today! Abit uploaded the final release of it's QQ bios to the FTP today. Thanks to Arlo for first notifying me of the file being listed on the FTP. The file was at 0 bytes though. After messaging Abit they quickly went back and uploaded the file again to the Abit Taiwan ftp site. (Thanks Abit!)

[Using BIOS Version QQ.b01 and the Powerleap NEO S370] I have benchmarked th celeron 600 overclocked at 900 MHz and will have the impressive results online later today.
I will also test out this new QQ final BIOS with the PIII 600 cA2 and celeron 600 cB0 CPU's in house and post the results later.

Hmm, deze versie bevat toch nog een bug
Ik heb opeens continue 50% processorbelasting, dat had ik eerst niet.

Shit mijn aureal vortex 2 audiokaart doet het nog
steeds niet met de nieuwe bios.

En ik maar denken dat abit zo goed was

Ja, inderdaad 50% proc load...heb ik daarvoor 2 uur alles opnieuw zitten installeren.

Eerst BIOS geflashed met bestaande W2k-install.
CPU-load: 0% (als ik mijn koeien ff pauze geef tenminste )
Daarna W2k opnieuw geinstalleerd (ja, ik heb ACPI weer aangezet)
CPU-load: 50%.... aaaarrrgggg!
Ik haal nu veel minder Mkeys/sec dan voorheen!

I just finished testing out the new BIOS. It looks very similar to the
QQ.B01 version except it's now a final version. This one is not the one
with the increased multiplier setting and full celeron 566+ support.
Abit is still working on that version. I tried the celeron 600 without
the NEO S370 adapter and it was a no go. I will be receiving more info
back from Abit as to what new changes have been made
in this BIOS release.

BTW: Some people have wondered whether or not the BP6 has been
discontinued. The answer is no the Abit BP6 is not discontinued.
After talking to Abit, they told me that there is a BX
chipset shortage that was causing the BP6 mobo to run
a little scarce.

BTW: If you need a source for the BP6 motherboard let me
know and I'll forward you the supplier info.

ehm sinds wanneer krijg je geen credit meer voor je nieuwssubmission? Maakt me niet echt veel uit, maar is toch wel mooi als m'n naam erbij staat!

damn ik helemaal hopen dat Abit nu al Celeron II support zou hebben... balen.

Zou wel cool zijn als die nieuwe Celeron II's zinder NEO s370's erop konden (of het nu SMPis of niet), scheelt weer een hoop isolatiezorgen...

Dit nieuws was door zo veel mensen gesubmit, dat ik daar niet aan kon beginnen.

Hmm met deze BIOS kun je dus goed overclocken? Weet iemand wat interessanter/voordeliger is om te kopen [komende zomer een nieuw moederbord + proc]
Is het beter om een AMD Spitfire om een Dual Celeron te kopen als je veel game't ??
zo'n dual celeron heeft wel veel }:O-power en het lijkt me wel interessant.. maar als die Spitfire [lees: de 'celeron' van amd] echt zo snel word zoals het er nu uit ziet en ook nog een beetje redelijk geprijsd is dan wordt het dat
