XS Underground heeft een review van de Hauppauge WinTV-D gemaakt, een van de betere TV kaarten op de markt met een ingebouwde Dolby Digital Decoder

Upon viewing my first digital television broadcast, my jaw dropped. The image was of DVD quality! The picture was crystal clear and MUCH sharper and detailed than any standard TV signal. I can't say enough about how impressive the picture quality was when output to a standard TV through the card's S-Video out jack. When a movie came on that took advantage of the full capacity of Dolby Digital Audio, I was in shock at how amazing it sounded. Being accustomed to listening to Dolby Pro Logic over broadcast TV, I was in sheer heaven comparing how much more real the experience was.
[...] With an average price of $299, the WinTV-D may seem a bit out of reach for some, but you get what you pay for. The DTV capabilities are a very nice feature to have since in a few years, DTV is going to go truly mainstream. This is the only TV tuner card currently on the market that can be considered "future proof."
The WinTV-D is an investment that will get years of use. It supports full multitasking with CPU usage well under 10 percent. When faced with the decision of getting one of those "all in one" video cards, a seperate capture card is preffered as to not limit updgradability.
Er is maar een probleem: in Nederland zijn niet echt veel (geen) digitale stations
