Nvidia heeft donderdag een nieuwe set GeForce/Ion-drivers uitgebracht. Ze zijn geschikt voor de GeForce 6-, 7-, 8-, 9-, 100- en 200-series, en de Ion-gpu's. De drivers hebben versienummer 196.21 meegekregen en zijn voorzien van een whql-certificering. Uitvoeringen zijn beschikbaar voor Windows XP, 2003 Server, Vista en 7 in zowel de 32bit- als de 64bit-uitvoering. Nieuw in de 196-serie drivers is ondersteuning voor een aantal nieuwe grafische kaarten, laat de control panel nu zien of PhysX gebruikt wordt, en zo ja of dan de processor of de grafische processor gebruikt wordt. Verder kunnen Adobe Flash 10.1 bèta en CUDA 3.0 nu al vanaf de GeForce 8 en hoger worden gebruikt, waar dat eerst alleen op de GT 240 was.
