Software-update: Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.2.6

Lavasoft heeft een nieuwe versie van het antispywareprogramma Ad-Aware uitgebracht. Het programma is aangekomen bij versienummer 7.0.2.6 en kan via deze pagina voor Windows gedownload worden. Ad-Aware doorzoekt een Windows-computer op kwaadaardige software, zoals spyware, adware, dialers, data-miners en andere soorten malware. Versie 7.0.2.6 kent onder meer verbeteringen in de scanprocedure en licentiesysteem. Daarnaast wordt de zogenoemde MiniMessage geïntroduceerd, waarmee Lavasoft berichten naar gebruikers van Ad-Aware kan sturen. De volledige release notes van Ad-Aware 7.0.2.6 zien er als volgt uit:

The software update to 7.0.2.6 contains some exciting new additions to Ad-Aware 2007.

First of all there have been changes made to various parts of the scanning engine, which improves the detection and removal of malware affecting LSP and NSP, a network scanning problem has been fixed, and the malware removal at Windows startup now removes folders.

Secondly, the licensing system has been redesigned to create a more streamlined registering process that prevents user errors and is less likely to be blocked by firewall software.

We also introduced the MiniMessage, which is a flexible notification system allowing us to get in touch with you, our users, through the product. As an example, MiniMessage will be used to notify you when your license is about to expire. The messages will be displayed in a window that appears above the System Tray and then automatically disappears after a short period of time, in order not to be perceived as distracting.

Finally, the 7.0.2.6 update adds multilingual support to Ad-Aware 2007. As a first step we are also releasing the language file for French, with more languages to come as they are finalized. The release schedule for this has not yet been set, but we will make announcements here in the blog as more languages become available.[break]
