Lavasoft heeft versie 10.2 van Ad-Aware uitgebracht. Dit antispywareprogramma kan kwaadaardige software en verdachte cookies opsporen en verwijderen, en bevat tegenwoordig ook een antivirusfunctie. Ad-Aware is verkrijgbaar in de smaken Free Antivirus+, Personal Security en Pro Security. Personal Security kost slechts 12 euro en voor 36 euro gaat Pro Security met je mee naar huis. De verschillende edities worden op deze pagina duidelijk tegen elkaar afgezet. De belangrijkste veranderingen in deze release zijn hieronder op een rijtje gezet.
Major changes applied in Ad-Aware 10.2 compared to 10.1:Bug fixes:
- Installation file installs the Ad-Aware 10.2 Free Antivirus+ 30-day Trial instead of Ad-Aware 10 Pro Security 30-day Trial.
- To use Ad-Aware 10.2 Free Antivirus+ more than 30 day, you have to request a free licence key. License key for Ad-Aware 10 Free Antivirus+ is valid for one year. Before the license key expires, you can request a new key from Lavasoft.
- To get Ad-Aware 10.2 Pro Security 30-day Trial, you have to install Ad-Aware 10.2 Free Antivirus+ 30-day Trial and request the free license key by selecting "Pro Trial" in the "Info" menu on the main screen of Ad-Aware.
- When upgrading Ad-Aware 10.2 Free Antivirus+ to Ad-Aware 10.2 Personal Security, Pro Security or Pro Security 30-day Trial you have to enter the appropriate license key and turn on "Advanced Firewall" and/or "Shop & Bank Safely Online". A message will be displayed and after you had clicked "OK" in the message box additional components will be installed and you need to restart the computer before the features are running.
If Ad-Aware 10.2 Free Antivirus+ was installed over the top of Ad-Aware 10.1 the additional components are already installed.- When downgrading Ad-Aware 10.1 (any version) or 10.2 Personal Security, Pro Security or Pro Security Pro Trial to Ad-Aware 10.2 Free Antivirus+ and you do not want to have unnecessary components installed, you have to uninstall/remove Ad-Aware 10.1 or 10.2 before installing Ad-Aware 10.2 Free Antivirus+.
- The installation program for Ad-Aware 10.2 will stop the installation if an incompatible program is detected.

- When your license key for Ad-Aware 10.2 Personal or Pro Security is about to expire, you renew it by following the link "Renew License" on the screen displayed when first clicking "Options" on the main screen and then selection the "General" tab. You are now able to copy your current license key on that screen to be able to paste it on the renewal web page.
- The feature "Identity Protection" has been added to all versions of Ad-Aware 10.2, but is only available to US Citizens. This feature will help you to protect personal information by actively monitoring your credit report and alerting you when critical changes to your records are detected.
- In some XP computers the sbhips.sys driver in Ad-Aware 10.1 caused blue screen of death (BSOD) now and then.
- In 10.1 certain settings were not saved, if you didn't Exit Ad-Aware before turning off the computer.
- The possibility to select "Prompt" on "Real-Time Protection" tab has been removed due to a lot of issues.
