Ilan Shemes heeft een nieuwe bètarelease van GrabIT uitgebracht. Het gaat om versie 1.5.3 beta en deze kan vanaf hier worden gedownload. GrabIt is in staat om bestanden uit nieuwsgroepen te downloaden. Bestanden die opgesplitst zijn in meerdere kleine files worden daarbij automatisch bij elkaar gevoegd tot het originele bestand. Versie 1.53 zal niet langer meer freeware zijn, maar een betaald product worden. Een van de belangrijkste features in deze versie is de commerciële search engine. Zonder account kan deze slechts vier maal per dag worden gebruikt en worden maximaal 500 resultaten getoond. Als betaalde gebruiker kan deze ongelimiteerd worden gebruikt en worden tot 5000 resultaten getoond. Het changelog van deze release laat verder de volgende veranderingen zien:

- GrabIt no longer selects a group to download using a message-id;
- Added a confirmation pop-up between hitting the 'clear history' button and actually clearing the history;
- Removed the double dot in the Incomplete Grab extension;
- Subscribed groups appear bold in the All Groups list;
- GrabIt Search information messages are now displayed in a pop-up instead of the search results;
- While pausing due to lack of disk space, GrabIt now automatically resumes downloading when enough disk space becomes available;
- Fixed the 'Error while downloading article' problem that is also known as the 'gobbledygook bug' in the GrabIt community;
- It is now possible to toggle if '(Incomplete Grab)' should be added to incomplete files (enabled by default);
- Individual parts from an Incomplete Grab will not longer be removed so the binary can be completed using another server.
