Driver-update: kX Audio Drivers 5.10.3538g

Op het forum van kX Audio Driver is gisteren in de vorm van 5.10.3538g een nieuwe bètaversie te downloaden van de drivers. Deze stuurprogramma's zijn bedoeld voor Creative Labs- en E-mu Systems-geluidskaarten die voorzien zijn van een EMU10K1- of EMU10K2-chip. Op deze pagina staan de soundcards die ondersteund worden. Voordat je deze update installeert, dien je wel eerst bètaversie 3538c te downloaden. De nieuwe 5.00.3538c-release kent ten opzichte van de vorige uitgifte een zooi veranderingen. Hieronder is het betreffend changelog geplaats, die gedestilleerd is van de release notes:

• Changed default peak meter mode

• Fixed issue with kX Mixer handling multiple Surrounder instances incorrectly
• Improved SoundFont support for looped samples
• Fixed issue with 3538d...3538f with Audigy1 passthru

known issues:

• when opening asio control panel, changing latencies, exiting asio host, you may experience system freezes (short-time) -- please report

before you download the driver:
think twice if you ever need to upgrade. this is a development release, not for generic public. if you don't know what 'debug' means, if you don't know what 'asio' means, if you mainly play EAX games or watch DVDs -- DO NOT INSTALL 3538c!..

Dit geldt ook voor deze release.
Ik werk niet met ASIO en wacht dus ook totdat 3538final er is.

Ps. ik vind dat deze 'forum-only-releases' van de kxdrivers niet in de meuktracker thuis horen.

eigenlijk wacht ik op EAX support in deze drivers, die wel fatosenlijk werkt

ik zit hier nu met de originele drivers van creative, maar wil eigenlijk naar deze.. echter kan ik dat niet, omdat ik nogal veel game, en ik het dus goed voor elkaar wil hebben met EAX..

Q. Are the kX drivers aimed at musicians or gamers or both?

A. At present the kX driver is aimed primarily at musicians, and especially those who wish to get the most out of their soundcards (and who have traditionally been left behind by the big soundcard manufacturers, who prefer to concentrate their efforts on the more lucrative gamers market). Features designed specifically for gamers will however be added as development of the drivers continues.

Ik denk dat je dan heel erg lang moet wachten.
