Van het peer to peer-programma eMule is versie 0.44b uitgekomen. Met dit programma is het mogelijk om met het eDonkey2000- en Kademlia-netwerk te verbinden, om zo met andere mensen bestanden uit te wisselen. Nieuw in deze versie is onder andere een nieuw hashing-systeem om corruptie tegen te gaan, low-ID ondersteuning voor het Kademlia-netwerk zodat gebruikers achter een firewall toch het netwerk kunnen gebruiken en ondersteuning voor Unicode.
