Driver-update: GeForce Game Ready Driver 398.36 WHQL

Nvidia heeft nieuwe stabiele GeForce-drivers uitgebracht. De drivers dragen versienummer 398.36 WHQL en zijn geschikt voor Windows 7 en hoger, met zoals gebruikelijk aparte downloads voor 32bit- en 64bit-omgevingen. De drivers kunnen worden gebruikt op alle kaarten uit de GeForce 400-series en hoger. Deze uitgave bevat onder meer optimalisaties voor het spel The Crew 2. De changelog laat natuurlijk ook weer bugfixes zien en een handvol problemen die wel al bekend zijn, maar waar nog geen oplossing voor is. De complete release notes staan hieronder:

• [G-SYNC]: G-SYNC may still be active after closing a game, causing the desktop to stutter. []
• [Surround]: Multiple games crash when launched in Surround mode. [2181329]

Windows 10 Open Issues

• [SLI][GeForce GTX 1080][G-SYNC][World of Warcraft: Legion][HDR]: Severe color corruption appears in the game after launching with the Windows HDR setting enabled. [200418344] This issue does not occur with the Windows HDR setting disabled.
• [Surround][G-SYNC]: In Surround mode, the G-SYNC link in the NVIDIA Control Panel is missing. [200425004]
• [Surround SLI][G-SYNC][Overwatch]: There is constant flickering in the game when played in a specific SLI Surround configuration (2 displays on master GPU and 1 display on slave GPU) with G-Sync mode enabled. [2130430]
• [G-SYNC]: Windowed G-Sync mode may stutter after upgrading to Windows 10 Spring Creators Update. [2097340]
• [Shadow Warrior 2][TITAN V]: After launching the game with Windows HDR setting enabled, there is flickering corruption when hovering the mouse over the game screen. [200408410] The issue does not occur with Windows HDR setting disabled.
• [GeForce TITAN (Kepler-based)]: The OS fails after installing the graphics card on a Threadripper-enabled motherboard. [1973303]
• [Netflix Edge Browser]: When playing a game in full-screen mode and playing a video from the Netflix Edge Browser, blue-screen crash occurs after multiple [Alt+Tab] switching between the two. [200415750] The issue does not occur when playing the Netflix video in a Chrome browser.
• [Firefox]: Cursor shows brief corruption when hovering on certain links in Firefox. [2107201]
• [NVIDIA Control Panel][Surround]: NVIDIA Surround hot keys do not work. [200394749]
• Random DPC watchdog violation errors occur when using multiple GPUs on motherboards with PLX chips. [2079538]
• Using power monitoring in GPU monitor tools causes micro stutter. [2110289/2049879]

gforce updaten vind ik altijd maar een stress.. Je weet nooit of het goed gaat.

Ik heb daar zelf eigenlijk bijna nooit hinder van ondervonden, maar meestal update ik de drivers niet direct en draait Geforce Experience niet automatisch en eigenlijk helemaal nooit.
Als ik dan toch wil updaten dan zoek ik het zelf wel handmatig op en verwijder ik eerst de oude rommel, heeft me nog nooit in de steek gelaten.

Shadowplay blijft bagger met een 1080Ti en 1440P scherm waardoor het beeld wat is opgenomen er incorrect uitziet. (chroma shifting)
Was ook de enige reden voor het installeren.

En als je het niet vertrouwd doe je hetzelfde zodat je niet zomaar voor een verassing komt te staan als bijvoorbeeld dagen later iets bekend wordt waarvan je veel hinder kan ondervinden. (denk bv aan 320.18 WHQL die videokaarten kapot maakte, letterlijk)

Dit komt voor ten alle tijden en is geen sporadisch probleem en het lijkt zich enkel voor te doen op 2560x1440.
Shadowplay lijkt dus geen problemen te hebben als je opneemt met 1920x1080 of 3840x2160.

Met Shadowplay ondanks dat ik de hoogste instellingen gebruik is er in donkere omgevingen, of zoals de nacht in GTA V, veel te veel corruptie door de compressie die wordt toegepast, dat is met raw-capture tools en zelfs na het verwerken van de video's een heel stuk minder indien je de juiste tools/instellingen gebruikt.

Maar ja, de laatste pogingen van mij zijn van enkele versies geleden, maar toen gebeurde het nog steeds.

Ik heb hier nog nooit last van gehad. Ik heb zelf geforxe experience geïnstalleerd en krijg een melding zodra er een nieuwe driver is. Deze installeer ik eigenlijk altijd binnen 2 weken na release en nog nooit rare problemen gehad.
