Versie 8.2 van FreeFileSync is uitgekomen. FreeFileSync is een opensourceprogramma waarmee een back-up kan worden gemaakt of de inhoud van twee verschillende locaties kan worden gesynchroniseerd. Het is beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux en OS X, is niet afhankelijk van zaken als Java of een .Net Framework en is bovendien licht in gebruik. De Windows-installer bevat aparte 32bit- en 64bit-versies, en biedt ook de mogelijkheid om een portable versie te installeren. In deze uitgave zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

- Fixed in-place progress panel height being trimmed
- Support drawing arbitrary polyons with graph control
- Apply Posix file name normalization (OS X)
- Normalize keyboard input encoding for all text fields (OS X)
- Report errors when cleaning up old log files
- Integrate external app WinMerge if installation is found
