Software-update: Postbox 4.0.3

Versie 4.0.3 van Postbox is uitgekomen. Postbox is een e-mailclient voor Windows en OS X, die zijn oorsprong heeft in Mozilla's Thunderbird. Het heeft uitgebreide mogelijkheden, zoals een gemeenschappelijke inbox voor verschillende e-mailaccounts, quick reply, signatures en het openen van mails in tabs. Daarnaast heeft het een uitgebreide contactmanager en veel zoekmogelijkheden. De belangrijkste vernieuwing in versie 4.0.3 is de Quick Bar, een manier om snel standaard antwoorden, urls of signatures in te voegen, maar sinds versie 4.0 is er meer veranderd:

• URLs are now auto-linked when entered using the Quick Bar
• Initiate Quick Bar when typing www. or http: or https:
• Enhanced the way Topics are assigned in the Quick Bar
• Postbox will now remember the full-screen preference when quitting the app

• Adjustments to Summarize Mode to improve compatibility across email clients
• Fixed an issue where Reply-All wouldn't add all addresses in Summarize Mode
• Fixed an issue where message selection could be lost after Quick Move or assigning Topics

• Fixed an issue where removing one label would remove them all

Ik heb een eigen mailserver voor privé mail en gebruik eigenlijk alleen nog webmail applicaties. Al jaren. Allicht dit eens een slinger geven, ziet er netjes uit.

Maak gebruik van Google apps. De Gmail omgeving vind in eigenlijk wel fijn, maar heb er voornamelijk een probleem mee. En dat is dat een email opgesteld in Gmail, er in Outlook niet uit ziet. Het voornaamste probleem is dat het font veel te groot is. Het probleem zit hem volgens mij in Outlook, want de webversie doet het wel goed. Veel van mijn klanten gebruiken Outlook en ik wil wel dat mijn email er netjes uitziet.

Dat heeft mij dus doen besluiten om een mail app te gebruiken, waardoor dit probleem niet ontstaat. Ik heb onder andere deze geprobeerd. Maar tov Airmail vond ik hem wat ouderwets aan doen.
