Software-update: RaidenFTPD 2.4 build 91

FTP-server RaidenFTPD heeft versie 2.4 build 91 bereikt. Op de website van de makers is over het programma het volgende te lezen:

RaidenFTPD is an FTP server that features remote account administration, multiple servers in one process, server scheduler, dupe checker, true virtual file system with file level security, user and group management, upload and download ratio system, and more. Ik heb deze laatst eens geprobeerd maar in vergelijking met Serv-U valt 'ie mij erg tegen moet ik zeggen. Het gebruiksgemak haalt het gewoon niet bij de soortgelijke programma's als Serv-u of bv Bulletproof. Jammer, want het programma is niet erg duur en heeft behoorlijk wat opties. Vooral op het vlak meerdere gebruikers met verschillende rechten in verschillende directories vind ik Raiden niet echt sterk.

Het is maar net welke FTP-server je fijner vind

Ik heb juist eerst Serv-U gehad, maar kwam daar aan z'n beperkingen en ben juist daardoor RaidenFTPd gaan installeren. Zwaar relaxt, zoveel opties. En als je nog niet genoeg opties hebt, kan je er altijd nog veel scripts voor vinden en erbij gebruiken. Wat wel handig is, vind ik de automatische .SFV controle... Plus dat je gewoon users kan toevoegen d.m.v. 'site adduser', ideaal

het makkelijke van raiden is dat je een soort unix achtig bestandssyteem kan gebruiken. chmod dus. reuze makkelijk. gewoon beetje oefenen met het programma,als je het onder de knie hebt is het echt simpel...

Mmmm ik dacht al, komt me wel erg bekend voor die naam. Maar maand ofzo geleden hebben we een computer op de afdeling gevonden die een hele sneaky versie van dit programma zat te draaien.

En guess what, in de recycle bin stond 40 gig aan warez!

FXP bak was het geworden dus, 100Mbit lijntje dus erg leuk.

Erg leuk was het ook dat er een text bestandje in de RaidenFTP dir stond met alle usernames + bijbehorende IP nrs

mensen die zich aangesproken zouden er goed aan doen om te verhuizen
