Software-update: Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.235

Adobe heeft versie 16 uitgebracht van Flash Player. Met Adobe Flash Player is het mogelijk om Flash-content, voornamelijk swf-bestanden, op de computer af te spelen. Onder meer populaire videosites als YouTube en Google Video bieden hun bezoekers de mogelijkheid om video's met de stand-alone-Flash Player af te spelen. Normaal gesproken komt er met een nieuwe Flash Player ook een nieuwe versie van Adobe AIR uit, maar versie 16 is op dit moment niet in bèta. New Features

• PPAPI Installers for Windows and Mac
  We're pleased to announce that we now have PPAPI installers for the standard version of Flash Player for Windows and Mac. Previously, this version of Flash Player was available only as an integrated component of Google Chrome. With the introduction of these installers, Flash Player is now available for all Chromium based browsers using the PPAPI interface. Please note that these installers are not required nor used by Google Chrome. Chrome will continue to include Flash Player without requiring any additional installation.
  Customers can download the PPAPI based installer from here or here.
  Developers interested in using the PPAPI debuggers can download the installers from the Flash Player Support Center.
• Stage3D - Standard Constrained Profile
  In version 14 of the Runtime we added the new Standard profile to desktop systems. This improvement in 3D graphics brought massive improvements to both Flash Player and AIR. In Version 15 we expanded that to mobile devices in AIR.
  In Flash Player 16 we've added a new Standard Constrained profile. Like Baseline Constrained, Standard Constrained targets older and lower powered GPUs on both desktop and mobile devices.
  While Standard profile reached a little over 20% of all iOS devices, the new Standard Constrained profile can now reach more than 85% of iOS devices! Developers can access this new mode by using the new STANDARD_CONSTRAINED constant in Context3DProfile. The chart below breaks down the differences between the different profiles that are currently available.

Ze zijn eindelijk eens aan het nadenken over iOS, dat is zeker intressant, misschien dat er toch nog een toekomst bestaat voor Flash (als ze dit goed aanpakken)

Ze hanteren inmiddels ook de nieuwe methodiek van versienummers waar Google ooit mee begonnen is bij Chrome en inmiddels door veel bedrijven ook wordt gehanteerd

Ik heb momenteel versie 15.0.0.239 geïnstalleerd, maar in Firefox 34.0.5 wordt dit nu standaard geblokkeerd. In de add-onbeheerder staat "Shockwave Flash staat bekend als wetsbaar en moet worden bijgewerkt.". Is er zo'n belangrijke security issue gevonden?

Werkt niet lekker met Firefox 34. Youtube geeft regelmatig een error.

Ja, heb Adobe Flash tijdelijk uitgeschakeld tot ze het euvel verholpen hebben. Maar dit probleem is echt sindskort, heeft te maken met de laatste Adobe-Flash-update. Hopelijk vindt Adobe snel een oplossing voor dit probleem
