Skype heeft de final release van versie 5.6 van zijn voip-client voor Mac OS X uitgebracht. Waar Skype vroeger alleen aandacht aan de Windows-versie leek te besteden krijgt de Mac OS X-versie tegenwoordig net zo veel aandacht. Zo is videoconferencing met maximaal tien personen mogelijk en kunnen tekstberichten worden gestuurd naar contacten die niet online zijn. In versie 5.6 zien we onder andere automatsche updates, een nieuwe volledige scherm-modus voor OS X 10.7 en zijn er natuurlijk weer de nodige problemen verholpen.
