Firmware-update: Mede8er MED500X 3.0.4

Mede8er heeft versie 3.0.4 uitgebracht van de firmware voor zijn MED500X-mediaspeler. Op het GoT loopt over deze mediaspeler een onderwerp, waarin meer informatie kan worden gevonden en meningen kunnen worden gedeeld. Nieuw in versie 3.0 zijn onder andere een opgefriste gebruikersinterface en de mogelijkheid om cover-art te gebruiken voor videobestanden. Verder worden media die al zijn bekeken van een markering voorzien. In versie 3.0.4 zijn de volgende verbeteringen aangebracht:

• Fixed: Internet Radio. Station list limited by Shoutcast - Require to Use Search for more stations. Do not use “System Restore” feature from a previous Mede8er firmware version
• Audio info and other info screens changed to larger info screen
• Russian text Media Library1 for "Hard drive" changed to "??????? ????".
• Improved navigation (smoother) on folders with images inside
• Fixed: "Pin Protection “"on"" setup Menu -- then go to ""Home Page ""

• Fixed: Music Player cut on some TV's -- Moved up 10 pix
• Fixed: Cyclic only in one direction -- zOOM about.jpg and now can cycle down or up
• Updated Internet Time GMT names

Known issues:

• 6 June 2010 - Very high bit rate 29fps BDISO (+- 40GB+) have stuttering and audio loss - Workaround -- to revert to V2.0.2 or extract your BDISO files to BDMV Folder structure with a program such as ISOBUSTER. If you are using a program like AnyDVD we suggest you save as BDMV and not a ISO
• Under certain filter conditions, time bar artwork punching through SETUP screen -- Under investigation
• Network (SMB) write not available to Non-Mede8er-formatted HDD (NTFS-only) -- Under investigation
• DVD resume on VIDEO_TS structure - Not working -- SDK
• Repeat A-B on BDISO -- SDK
• Restore from v1.x or v2.x backups -- not restoring all fields correctly
• On certain 16:9 DVD menus - selection highlight is misplaced -- SDK issue
• Simultaneous audio output via both HDMI and SPDIF -- SDK restriction

Tjah zit in de SDK, hier heeft Mede8er geen invloed op. Zodra dit in de SDk gefixed is, zullen ze een nieuwe rom uitbrengen.

mja, ik sla deze maar over want er staat niets belangrijk voor mij tussen.
zo blijf ik bezig.
Maar wat ik niet snap is dat je hem telkens met de emergency update moet doen.
waarom hebben ze dan in het menu een optie staan om te updaten
die kunnen ze er ook onderhand tussen uit gooien.

maar ik ben nog steeds tevreden met me mede8er

Het letterlijke antwoord zoals op het Mede8er forum:

This can cause problems especially when updating across different versions of the SDK.
Unfortunately this is not controllable and the recommended upgrade method will remain the 'emergency' method until the devs can overcome this.
The reason for the power cycle (unplug and replug power) is to completely ensure that no remnant of old code remains in memory.
Most problems come about as a result of not using emergency update as old code conflicts with new - strange but true...

Perhaps it would be better not to call the the 'emergency' method and rather refer to this as the 'standard' method? (At least until such time as the devs can guarantee a complete overwrite...)"</sub>

BLijkbaar kan in volgende versies van firmware ook een update meegenomen worden van de standaard update optie in het menu....

Ben blij met de updates, maar wordt er wel gek van dat bij iedere update je complete config (en shortcuts) verdwenen zijn.

Dit moet geen probleem zijn, want het hele system menu (update/save/restore) werkt niet.

Voor wat betreft de SDK-issues lees ik op het Mede8er-forum het volgende:

_{"We are currently merging the Mede8er code into the latest SDK that will hopefully solve many of the SDK related issues. This is a lenghtly process so you should allow 6 - 8 wk before release."}

Men is dus aan t werk, alleen nog ff wachten en hopen dat problemen dan verholpen zijn!
